Niccolò Machiavelli
Goes by:
Nico
Teacher/Student: Student / College
Birthday: May 3rd
Residence: Off-campus home
Personality: Nico is the typical sensitive jock who is quite often too sharp for his own good. He's captain of the soccer team but has a few books of Italian poetry (stowed away in his attic, the only place he'll read anything that isn't Rolling Stone or The Economist--and yes, he does realise he's the only person under sixty subscribed to that magazine). He is also on the school's polo and volleyball teams, and enjoys jogging in the mornings, and playing hockey in the winter.

Despite his large focus on athletics, Nico is a big fan of the reefer, and is known to supply it via the record store he works at (Rory's Vinyl).

He's been heavily influenced by his parents and family in general, who have always put a lot of pressure on him. His mother and father are lawyers, who divide their time between Oregon and Italy. Nico himself was born in Italy and stayed there till he was four, and he's only been able to visit it during summers and some holidays since then. His parents, Bernardo and Mea, were always more professional than familial and have him convinced he can take what he deserves, no matter how he has to do it. And Nico, in his head, deserves a whole lot.

Since he's been away from them at Lowood, he's softened a bit, and is less likely to manipulate the people he likes (though he couldn't give a damn about those he hates). He feels constantly that he will be a disappointment to his parents, but usually manages to keep it in the back of his mind, not letting it come through. He isn't very good with emotions. He can show people he's confident or proud, but fear, anger, or sadness he has trouble letting on.

Major Details: Aggressive soccer player. Works at Rory's Vinyl, the local sketchy-as-hell record shop (with an excellent selection of music). He owns more suits than any seventeen-year-old boy ever should. He plays both guitar and drums rather well, and is intrigued by the prospect of piano. You could say he is a bit of a Renaissance man. He also dabbles in art and sculpture during class, not doing badly for a high school student, though by no means a Da Vinci. Speaking of, he's very proud of his Italian heritage, and more than a shade in love with his home city, Florence. He has had an awful lot of flimsy relationships, and quite a bad reputation around the school for them. He knows all about the reincarnation and the things coming out of books, due to a direct conversation with the Dean, but is sworn not to tell unless in the direst circumstances. After graduating from Lowood he became a part-time student at Helicon, the sister university, and also began working for the Dean as a student liaison for hunting down literary badthings.
